My Qualifications

I have completed an Advanced Certificate of Professional Style & Image at Australian Style Institute, home of Australia’s leading style and image professionals. Their unique method of styling is founded in critical principles of human behaviour – enabling me as a Professional Stylist to offer a unique perspective on styling that empowers my clients.

I can have a defining influence in my clients’ lives by helping them to embrace their personal aspirations, tackle their fears, pursue ambitious career goals, make public appearances or even simply accept and learn to love themselves exactly the way they are.

Since I started my business I have styled over 600 Personal Styling Clients and conducted over 35 Styling Workshops, with over 360 attendees.

My Why

Growing up, I was never the beautiful girl at school.  To be honest, I probably spent far too much time dreaming about being the perfect size 8.  Aspiring to have the flawless complexion – you know, like the girls in Girlfriend Magazine!  The now older and wiser Image Stylist in me, will challenge my adolescent perception that a size 8 is perfect! But at the young age of 16, my perception was my reality.

We all wore the same mission brown uniform, so the flavour of our Body Shop Lip Balm and the way we scrunched our school socks, defined us.  Don’t get me wrong; I was popular, as I have always had the ability to interact with different personalities, love people and new experiences.  From a young age, my inter-personal skills were strong.  I was the observant, sympathetic friend, providing practical care to friends and colleagues, usually sugar coated with humour.  I have always been observant about other people and seem to sense what is wrong with someone before others might.  Helping people to feel better about themselves has always felt rewarding.

From the minute I left school, irrespective of career and lifestyle, personal grooming held significant importance in my life.  I have experienced first hand how the clothes we wear affect the impression people form of us.

Fast-forward more years than I care to admit and I am now a proud Mother of 2 adorable children.  Re-entering the daunting schoolyard as a Mum, socializing with a multitude of people and listening to their fears, insecurities, needs and desires, completely opened my eyes and defined my purpose.  Once I knew my purpose, I knew the role I could play to achieve it!

I love the effect a well-styled outfit can have on an individual. To be involved in the process of this beautiful transformation is so rewarding. Fashion styling is more than choosing great clothes and keeping up with trends. Great styling is about understanding my clients’ individual body shapes and what garments are going to suit. It involves identifying desires, fears and lifestyle needs. It’s about building confidence. When you look good, you feel great and then you have the self-esteem to achieve anything.
