Frequently Asked Questions.

I completed an Advanced Certificate in Professional Style and Image at the Australian Style Institute in January 2016.  Home of Australia’s leading style and image professionals, their unique method of styling is founded in the critical principles of human behaviour.  This enables me as a Professional Stylist in Perth to offer a unique perspective on styling that truly empowers my clients.

In 2016 I was awarded ‘The One to Watch’ Award by the Australian Style Institute. This was a monumental moment for me in my styling career. Since then, I have assisted clients to successfully shop their own wardrobe, refine their personal style and shop for the perfect versatile, trans-seasonal capsule wardrobe.

In April 2017 I collaborated with West Australian Kailis Pearl Jewellery, Broome, I wore a Diamond and Australian South Sea Pearl necklace and was crowned “Best Dressed” at Diner en Blanc Perth.

In December 2017, I was nominated for ‘Stylist of the Year’ by Australian Style Institute. There were only 5 nominated for the prestigious award nationally.

In 2018, I was awarded The Alumni Award from Australian Style Institute. This award is so highly regarded in my field.

After creating a successful Perth Personal Styling business, I was fortunate enough to be appointed as the official Personal Stylist for Garden City Shopping Centre, Booragoon. (Now known as Westfield, Booragoon)

In 2022 I was interviewed by The West Australian, STM Magazine and interviewed by Kate Emery who wrote an article on the obvious increase in male styling and grooming – now nearly 50% my personal styling clients are male.

In 2010 I cut loose from the corporate world after becoming a mother of two and began working at one of Australia’s busiest retail boutiques.  I spent many hours talking with women and challenging long held negative body image narratives, I discovered an opportunity in the market,  a place where I could truly make a difference. I identified a significant  lack of ‘personal’ image styling that was evident in the retail shopping industry.

I started my business in February 2016, styling my first paying client in June 2016. Since then I have styled over 600 personal styling clients, and conducted over 35 Personal Styling Workshops in Perth, with over 360 attendees at each event.

If there is one thing that my clients tell me over and over again it is that they connect and feel my passion and authenticity.  I was the fat kid who struggled with body image issues my whole life.  I don’t actually just do this for the money, I genuinely want to make a difference in people’s lives.

My life purpose is to make others feel great because I never did – I know what it feels like to have no confidence, and despise the way you look.

I want to assist every person out there to break down the life-long narratives they have carried with them since childhood when someone told them “they are fat, or not good enough, or have fat ankles, short legs, a thick neck, no boobs.”  Whatever it may be. – everyone deserves to look and feel amazing on the inside and out.

Fashion styling is more than choosing great clothes and keeping up with trends. It is about learning to understand my clients’ individual body shapes and what garments are going to suit them specifically.

It involves discovering desires, fears and lifestyle needs. It’s about building confidence – when you look good, you feel great and everyone deserves  the self-esteem to achieve personal goals, and become the envy of their peers!

It takes approximately 3.5 seconds for someone to form an opinion of you when they meet you for the first time? 7% is words and 93% is visual!

If we can influence the way people perceive us through our style, then as an Image Stylist comes power, responsibility and the ability to help people identify their own unique and beautiful style and transform them into the best version of themselves.

I became my best version by allowing my passion to guide me to my purpose, and that’s to help everyone feel amazing.

Over the years, I have worked with clients ranging from 16 to 68 years of age, with a relatively even split of gender.  I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such a vast and diverse client base. You can read a word from some of my lovely clients here.

More recently the majority of my clients have been busy corporate professionals (males and females) who have recently been promoted, starting a new role, or going back to work after parental leave and they need to redefine their style or they are so time poor that they don’t have the time (or desire) to peruse the shops.

I take care of all the legwork for you and make the whole style process simple and hassle-free. The ‘Shop Your Style’ or ‘Personal Re-style’ are my most popular style packages for this as it offers my clients a range of outfits, they learn how to pair different items to create new outfits and accessorise so they don’t even have to think about what to wear each day.

I cater for casual to corporate. A great option for busy professionals. Learn more about my styling services here.

Budget is one of the key factors we discuss during a Personal Style Consultation.  There is no specific set amount. I can work with my clients within any budget.  It’s a very personal thing and I can shop on any budget.  That being said, the majority of clients spend between $1,500 to $3,000 during a shopping session.  One of my objectives as your Personal Image Stylist is to ensure I manage your spend, based on your objectives and what you are hoping to achieve from the shopping session. I can educate you to pair items together so you can have multiple outfits from key items of clothing.

There is no obligation to purchase anything if you don’t want to (this is very rare as most clients normally purchase a few items we select) but it’s about making you feel good and it’s a process we work through together.

I encourage you to donate these to a charity of your choice. There are plenty of companies around such as Good Sammy, St Vinnies, Australian Red Cross, The Salvation Army or Refinery29 – it’s a nice way to give back to those less fortunate.

A collaboration I hold close to my heart, is with Australian Red Cross Cottesloe. This is the charity I suggest to clients to donate all their pre-loved clothing and accessories to, following a Wardrobe Audit.

Yes!  This is the exciting part!  I have negotiated discount with numerous Retailers and the resulting discount can often cover a good portion of my Personal Styling fee.  When shopping with me, you will receive up to 25% off at certain Retailers.

My preferred shopping centres are Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Claremont Quarter and Westfield Booragoon

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to look and feel good. I can work to any budget. Allow me to show you how easy it is to feel confident when you are aware of your body shape, personal style and colourings.

Yes I can. Think professional photo shoot, Melbourne Cup, Birthday, Mother of the Bride or Groom, wedding guest, school formal, corporate ball, packing for a holiday or Christmas event. No matter what the occasion, allow me to find you the perfect outfit so you can focus on enjoying the event.

If you have a special event coming up that you need help putting an outfit together, I can definitely help. This falls under my ‘Special Event Styling’ package.

I certainly do.  If that is your preference.  I have successfully conducted virtual Style Consultations and Wardrobe Audits with intrastate and interstate clients on many occasions.  Get in touch and we can discuss the best option for you

Fashion styling is more than choosing great clothes and keeping up with trends.  It’s about understanding varying body shapes, skin tones, age and lifestyle needs and identifying the perfect cut, fit, colour and style of clothing to suit.

My objective is to create a safe and comfortable environment for individuals to discover their own personal style, and express this in a way that is truly you.

You will learn which colours, fabrics and clothing items are best for your body shape, complexion and the overall ‘look or style’ you are trying to achieve (and which ones to avoid.)

I don’t have any workshops booked at the moment, but if you sign up to my Style News I will let you know when the next one is released.

100% – I always ask permission to feature images or words from any of my clients. If you wish to remain anonymous then that is absolutely okay by me.
